Project goal
I illustrated a large series of images for a children’s book retelling the classic Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts. This version was adapted and narrated by René Groothof, aiming to make the epic tale accessible and engaging for young readers.

My approach
The illustrations combine dramatic compositions and dynamic character designs to capture the adventurous and heroic spirit of the myth. I focused on strong storytelling visuals, emphasizing key moments like the quest for the Golden Fleece, mythical creatures, and the camaraderie of the Argonauts, all tailored for a young audience.

Result
Published in the Netherlands in 2010, the book was well received for its vibrant artwork and fresh take on an ancient story. The illustrations played a vital role in bringing the myth to life, helping children connect with timeless themes of bravery, friendship, and adventure.
