Project overview
The Large, Cheerful Stuttering Book is a fun, richly illustrated non-fiction book aimed at children aged roughly 9 to 12 (group 6 to 8). It explores the world of stuttering with humor and warmth, featuring funny facts, engaging stories, and clear explanations. The book includes interviews with well-known Dutch people who stutter, answers to common questions (the “V-V Questions”), and a thoughtful chapter on the challenges and surprising benefits of stuttering.

My role
I created an ample series of cheerful, approachable illustrations that bring energy and clarity to the text. The visuals support the lighthearted tone while helping children better understand the topic. Through characterful cartoons and visual storytelling, the book becomes both informative and entertaining.

Result
Published in the Netherlands in 2025, the book is designed for children who stutter, their peers, families, and anyone curious about stuttering.
